St. Anne's and DMV Presentation Tackles Driving with Dementia Dilemma: When Families Must Decide, Can They Still Drive?
July 31, 2017…St. Anne’s Salvatorian Campus will host a free presentation August 16 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m that broaches the sensitive subjects of when a loved one suffers from dementia, should they still drive? and how do we take the keys away? For more information, read the press release here.
 
St. Anne's to Hold Feast Day Celebration July 26
June 26, 2017 ... Summertime is festival time in Milwaukee, so it’s only fitting St Anne’s has an annual summer celebration of its own. Every year on July 26 we rejoice in the Feast of St. Anne. It is our most anticipated and meaningful event (St. Anne is our namesake, after all).
Feast Day includes Mass, a special dinner, and evening entertainment in the park. The theme of this year’s entertainment is Hooray for Hollywood. Festivities begin at 3:30 p.m. and will include two special guests. New Milwaukee Archdiocese Auxiliary Bishop James Schuerman will celebrate an afternoon Mass at 3:30 p.m. After the service, volunteer Mary Easterday will receive the 2017 Heart of the Home Award (read more about Mary here).
 
St. Anne's Takes the Fight to Alzheimer's Disease with16 Hours of Food, Music, and Games During “The Longest Day” Event
May 22, 2017… On June 21, St. Anne’s will combat Alzheimer’s with 16 straight hours of activities from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. during The Longest Day, the Alzheimer’s Association’s worldwide event that raises awareness and funds to fight the disease (read more here).
 
The First Feel-Good Story of Spring: St. Anne's Seniors-with-Seniors Prom will be held March 25
March 6, 2017 ... St. Anne's annual seniors-with-seniors prom, where senior citizens at St. Anne's get to relive their youth with their dates from Divine Savior Holy Angels and Marquette University High School, will be held March 25 from 6-8 p.m. The candy-themed event, “One Sweet Night,” will come complete with suits and dresses and music and dancing.
 
St. Anne's to Participate in Dementia Education Week February 14-21
Jan. 30, 2017 ... St. Anne’s will participate in Dementia Education Week (originated by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners) February 14-21 by providing dementia training for staff to fine tune their caregiving skills. This is the first in a six-part series that will be offered in upcoming months to provide extra tools for caregivers that help them when they work with those with dementia.
 
St. Anne's Receives Top, Five-Star Rating for 2016
Jan. 2, 2017 ... St. Anne's was recognized once again as a top nursing home in Wisconsin, receiving a five-star rating from Nursing Home Compare, the official U.S. Government website for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Nursing homes receive a yearly overall rating of one to five stars from the government according to their performance in three areas: state-conducted health inspections, nurse staffing, and medical quality measures.
